Welcome to West River Education District (WRED) Nutrition Program

Seed2Tray and the West River Education District is committed to providing our students nutritious food. In the event of school dismissal we will offer FREE Grab & Go meal service at 3 convenient locations (please click here for more details). If you are unable to get to one of the linked locations please reach out to your individual school and we will address those needs.

Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.

The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices. Read more about what we're doing in this WCAX article.

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

Continuation of Free Meals through 2021

The WCSU School district will follow the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) Meal Program for FY 22. This program with the USDA & Vermont AOE will allow all school children to be served free breakfast and lunch through the school year. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
