Start Your Day with a Good Breakfast

Breakfast

Serving Breakfast at MTSD

Manheim Township School District offers the School Breakfast Program at all of our school sites.  Breakfast menus are posted monthly on our Food Services website.  Meals consist of three components: grain, fruit, and milk.

For the 20-21 school year, all breakfast meals will be pre-bagged as a complete meal of grain (protein), and 2 fruit options (juice and one of the following: fresh, frozen or dried fruit).  Students may choose a milk of their choice but they are not required to take one.

Breakfast works a little differently at each school site.  Please refer to your school for specific serving times and meal pick up/consumption locations.

Breakfast costs $1.45 for all grade levels.  Students who are eligible for free or reduced meals may get a breakfast for free.

Breakfast Provides Benefits... Make it a Priority!

Higher Test Scores. Research has proven that children who eat breakfast have higher math and reading scores.

Improved Attendance. Studies show that students who eat breakfast are absent and tardy less often.

Fewer Trips to the School Nurse. When students eat breakfast, nurses report fewer hunger related office visits.

Improved Classroom Behavior. Students are better able to pay attention in class when they have eaten. Principals confirm that they see fewer discipline problems when students have eaten breakfast.

Better Learning. Students learn best when they have eaten a good breakfast.

More Time on Learning. When students have eaten, they are better able to concentrate and behave in the classroom. This allows teachers to spend more time on teaching and less time on discipline.
