FREE meals through the 2021-2022 school year.

How to Make Payments


1. Online at Titan Family Portal. 

-You can either download the mobile app Titan Family Connect or type into your browser on your computer or phone.

-There is a minimum payment of $25.00. There is a transaction fee of $1.00 per deposit transaction.

2. Send Cash or Check. 

-You can always bring money personally or send it with your student. 

-Please make checks payable to Grand Island Public Schools. Please place check in an envelope marked clearly with your student’s name, their ID number, their teacher’s name, the dollar amount and the check number. 

-If you are splitting the payment between multiple students, please specify students’ names, ID numbers and dollar amount to go into each account on the envelope. 


Account Balance Info


Account Balance Calls/Notifications.

- District Messaging communication system will send out calls/text/emails on Monday nights for account balances that range from:

        Free:           Negative balances only - once a month

        Reduced:     Calls, Text, Emails go out to Negative Reduced families 

                            Text and Emails go out with account balance of $0.01 - $2.00

         Full Pay:     Calls, Text, Emails go out to Negative Full Pay families

                            Text and Emails go out with account balance of $0.01 - $15.00

-GIPS Nutrition Services clerks will call when balances are close to or are negative.


Charge Policy and A La Carte Sales

Children require healthy meals to grow and learn. School meals are served daily to support learning. If a student's meal account has a negative balance, the Child Nutrition Department will continue to offer the student a regular reimbursable meal. The cost for this meal will be added to the student account. No a la carte or "extra" items may be charged to a student's meal account with a negative balance. Negative meal accounts will carry over until the account is paid. The Child Nutrition Department will contact the parent/guardian for payment.
