Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand!

The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being, and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

Meals, foods, and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

Northeastern School District was selected for the USDA Secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue to do a press release event on Friday, October 9, 2020.  This event sparked a major national announcement regarding USDA school meal flexibilities.
On Friday, October 9, 2020, USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue gave a press release and announced that USDA will be extending the meal flexibilities waiver to provide school meals for free until the end of the 2020-2021 School Year nationwide.

We are once again able to offer free curbside meals to students regardless of their free, reduced, or paid eligibility status.
