Information about Pandemic EBT, or P-EBT
P-EBT is a federal program. The California Department of Social Services (CDSS), in collaboration with the California Department of Education (CDE), received approval to operate the program in response to COVID-19 related school closures. P-EBT provides food benefits to help families with children who are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals through the federal School Breakfast or National School Lunch Programs
Correct Mailing Address:
The state will be mailing out NEW and retroactive P-EBT (2.0) cards to eligible students to the address on file at your student's school. If your address or contact information has changed, you need to contact your student's school or the district office and provide a new proof of residency. You are at risk of not receiving these important benefits if your address and contact information is not updated.
PLEASE NOTE: P-EBT cards are NOT distributed by our school district. The State of California is responsible for distributing P-EBT benefits. Please direct questions to the P-EBT Helpline at 877-328-9677.
P-EBT 2.0 Benefits
The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) will send communications about the upcoming availability of P-EBT benefits to eligible families prior to card distribution and the second issuance of P-EBT benefits. In addition, the CDSS will be launching a campaign to raise public awareness about P-EBT. Beginning June 22, 2021, resources for eligible families and partners will be available on a new P-EBT web page.
Families that require assistance with P-EBT cards can call the P-EBT Helpline at 877-328-9677.
Please Note: When you receive your P-EBT (2.0) card, DO NOT DISCARD after use. Additional funds may be added to the card after you receive it.
