Celebrating School Lunch Hero's Day 2021
2020-21 School Year Meals Information
We are excited to announce that the USDA has extended free meals for all through June 30, 2021. This allows every Cohasset Public Schools student access to breakfast and lunch at no charge. We encourage families to take advantage of this opportunity that will provide nutritious meals to both in-person and remote learners. Only fill out a free and reduced application if you intend to qualify for free or reduced meals once the universal free benefits expire.
Menus will be posted on our website, www.cohassetk12.org, under the “Nutrition” tab. Students can choose either a hot meal or cold meal for lunch each day. All meals will be prepackaged and placed in bags for easy grab-and-go service. Each meal bag will contain the entrée, fruit, vegetable, and drink.
*NEW* Online Ordering Information
Online ordering is now available on our website. Information to set up accounts is under the menu tab to set up accounts. Click online ordering on the menu to place orders.
In-person learning. When students are in the buildings, they will come to the cafeteria to get their meals. Because meals are now free for all students, they will move through the lunch line without having to enter their ID numbers into the computer. Homeroom teachers will be taking meal orders each morning during attendance. Grab-and-go breakfast will be available in every building daily.
Remote learning. When students are on the remote schedule, families have the option to pick up free to-go meals (breakfast and lunch) Monday-Friday. Pick-up for all students will be at the Middle/High School, 143 Pond Street, at the loading dock behind the Middle School, each day from 12:00-1:00. Order meals online through the nutrition tab on our website. Simply click on your students menu and click online ordering at the top of the page.
Open Site: We remain an open site for all families in Massachusetts to pick up meals, regardless of residence. Any family that would like to pick up meals can come to Cohasset Middle/High School at 143 Pond Street and pick up meals at the loading dock in back Monday-Friday, 12:00-1:00pm.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Marilyn Haraden, Director of Food Services, at email@example.com or 781-383-6107.
Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.
Dear Cohasset Families,
Cohasset school cafeterias meet all federal nutrition standards for school meals, ensuring that meals are healthy and well-balanced and provide students all the nutrition they need to succeed at school. Now is a great time to encourage your kids to choose school lunch!
School meals have always offered students milk, fruits and vegetables, and proteins and grains, and they must meet strict limits on saturated fat and portion size. School lunches meet standards requiring:
- Age-appropriate calorie limits
- Larger servings of vegetables and fruits (students must take at least one serving of produce)
- A wider variety of vegetables, including dark green and red/orange vegetables and legumes
- Fat-free or 1% milk (flavored milk must be fat-free)
- More whole grains
- Less sodium
We’re always working to offer Cohasset students healthier and tastier choices, and we are proud of the selection we offer. School meals are a great value and a huge convenience for busy families, too. We use the Nutrikids online system at all schools. Nutrikids allows you to prepay for students’ meals and monitor what your children eat each day. Visit www.myschoolbucks.com for more information.
We look forward to welcoming your children to the cafeteria!
