Welcome to Child Nutrition Services!

La Villa Independent School District

Dear Parents,

La Villa ISD Child Nutrition Department is proud to announce that this school year J.B. Munoz Elementary School has been selected to participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP). This program encourages children to enjoy the great taste, and health benefits that fruits and vegetables provide to their daily diet.

The goals of this program are to:

  • Create a healthy school environment by providing healthier food choices.
  • Introduce a variety of fruits and vegetables for children to experience.
  • Increase children’s fruit and vegetable consumption.
  • Make a difference in children’s diets to impact their present and future health.

Starting October 2021, Child Nutrition Services will provide your child a fresh fruit or vegetable snack, at least twice a week, accompanied by a brief nutrition education lesson taught by their P.E. teacher. Your efforts at home are just as important. Please encourage your child to be adventurous and try all the wonderful fruits and vegetables the program will provide. Your help and support will not only make your child more successful in school, but will also instill good healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime.
