Welcome to Food & Nutrition Services!

Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.

The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

Pandemic EBT Benefits

The Oregon Department of Health and Human Services will be distributing round 2 of Pandemic EBT Benefits this spring/summer 2021. The benefits will be issued in the form of an Oregon SNAP debit card. Please read this letter for information on p-ebt benefits and how to qualify.

We are currently serving all kids 1 to 18 free meals. Meals can be accessed by weekly pick up, at our daily Grab and Go locations, on site during LIPI or Hybrid, or the D6 Express. Listed below is information about each of those options.

Please keep participation to 1 breakfast and 1 lunch per day 7 days a week for all of your kids.

Grab and go meals are available Monday - Friday at the below listed sites and serving times.

D6 Express - Mobile Meal Routes

D6 Express Routes and Meal Services Starting February 2, 2021

Starting April 12, 2021 the D6 Express will only be running on Wednesday's. Click the above link for route information and pick up times.

Weekly Meal Pick Up Information and Registration Link

Our weekly meal pick up is designed for families who prefer a once a week pick up of meals and don't utilize our grab and go sites, are not participating in meals at school, or the D6 Express. Any family can participate, you don't need a school age student or D6 registered student to opt into this program, meals are free and available to all kids 1 to 18. Meals will include breakfast and lunch for 7 days, they will include a variety of fruits and vegetables, entree items, and milk distributed by the half or whole gallon.

Distribution will be from Scenic Middle School or Hanby Middle School. If this option fits your need we ask that you register in advance, see registration links below. On pick up day we will provide you with 7 days of breakfast and lunch meals for the kids in your household. Use the registration links below to sign up if this is the meal option that works for you.

Wednesday is our weekly meal pick up day. Scenic will be open from 6:30a - 6p. Hanby will be 6:30a - 2:00p, late p/u available.

If you need alternate times please email Anne Leavens, anne.leavens@district6.org. If you are in a position where you need meal delivery please reach out to Anne, she can coordinate that for you.

The registration links are set up by month, in the form you can select which weeks you want to pick up! If you are unsure about plans and weeks you might need it's okay to submit multiple registrations.

Central Point School District #6 School Wellness Policy

Information for when School is in Session:

School District 6 Meal Charging Policy

Our policy follows the regulations of Oregon House Bill 3454. All students who come to one of our serving stations or cafeteria for a meal are served a meal. Per HB 3454 we are not to discuss meal account balances or volunteer any information about your student(s) account with them when they are getting a meal. We will not remind them to bring lunch money while serving them their meal. For our complete policy please click the link below that fits the grade level your student(s) attends.

Our department takes pride in our meal quality. We have bakers working at Crater and Scenic to make all our dinner rolls and pan breads for Hanby and our Elementary Schools. Our bakers also make signature items for their schools. Many of our entree items are scratch made with local ingredients. We also make all of our salad dressings, sauces, and provide a wide variety of fresh vegetables and fruit options daily. Listed below are all of our Oregon business partners:
