Welcome to Nutrition Services! ![]() News Update on Pink Slime concerns 3-7-2012
The Thompson School District Nutrition Services takes great pride in the quality of foods we provide to students. There have been recent news reports about a product called "pink slime" containing ammonium hydroxide in beef products. We have checked with our beef manufacturer, JTM, and they have sent us an official statement that they are not using any beef or processing procedures using this product. We are always scrutinizing labels and looking for the highest quality products for our students. If you have any further questions about this or any of our menu items, please contact Shannon Emslie MS, RD at 970-613-5134. ________________________________________________________ The school food service program is an essential part of the total educational program. Based on the premise that well nourished students are better prepared to receive the instruction of the school day, the Nutrition Services Department plays a vital role in each school's educational team.
National research studies have shown that students who are well nourished have a history of better attendance, are more attentive in class and have more energy to participate in school activities. At the Thompson School District, we believe that nutrition matters. Click here to learn how we are making a difference in student nutrition!

The Thompson School District is excited to announce participation in an online payment program for your child's meal account. Please visit for more information or call 970-613-5117.
On a related note, due to Larimer County Health Department regulations, no home-made treats or snacks can be shared or sold on campus. This is consistent with the district wellness goals, the 2010 Hungery-Free Kids Act and the Nutrition Department. Please contact your Nutriton Manager at your school for more information.
