Meal Applications

Meal and Textbook Applications will be available in the middle of July to families who believe they may qualify. If your family chooses to apply, please create a family account if you have not done so.   You will be able to see your updated meal status on your account after you apply. You will also be notified by mail if your application was denied.

Factors considered in the application process are household size and total household income. HOUSEHOLD SIZE is considered to be all persons, related or unrelated, including parents, children, grandparents who live in your home and share living expenses. The TOTAL HOUSEHOLD INCOME is the income each household member receives before taxes - this includes wages, social security, pension, unemployment, welfare, child support, alimony, investment income, and any other cash income. Do not list any expenses such as child support paid out.  Do NOT list Medicaid numbers as Medicaid is not a qualifier.

Foster children are categorically eligible for free meal benefits. Please check the Foster Child Box in Part 1.  Foster children may be included in the household application as part of the household size but the payments received from the Foster Care agency for the care of foster children are not to be reported as income.
