Did you know that we buy farm fresh produce right from our own district farSchool District Farmm?

Our Nutrition Services Department at Manteca USD, takes the notion of “Farm to School” to a whole new INNOVATIVE level. Outside of the window of the Manteca Nutrition Services Department is the school district’s farm. We buy fresh produce for our nutrition program that is farmed and harvested by the students. Farm fresh specialties include pumpkins (of course) baby bok choy, parsley, chives, carrots, cilantro, potatoes, spinach and butter, romaine, green leaf and red leaf lettuces. Beaming, Patty Page, the Director of Nutrition Services, says “We’ve harvested and served some of the sweetest watermelons you have ever tasted”.
