Our Mission Statement:    To serve a nutritious, attractive school meal according to National School Lunch Program guidelines in a friendly and timely manner at a reasonable cost to all.

Our department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn.  We support learning by promoting healthy habits.  Meals served at schools meet state and federal requirements based on USDA Dietary Guidelines.   Lunches must provide 33% of the Recommended Dietary Allowance for protein, iron, calcium and Vitamins A & C.  School breakfast must provide 25% of the Recommended Dietary Allowances averaged over a school week. Our menus offer fresh fruits and veggies daily; we serve 1% lowfat milk; offer whole grain bread and rolls.  Frying is limited at the high school and all potatoes and menu items are baked at WWMS and our elementaries.  These practices support a healthy lifestyle.   The food and physical activity choices made today affect your health -- how you feel today, tomorrow and in the future.  Healthy eating is an important life  skill.
