PrePayment Pre-Payment Options

MySchoolBucks

The Derry Township School District has a computerized debit system which allows all students card and or pin access to their meal accounts in the cafeteria and or food court. If you are a parent of a new student or have not used the debit system in the past, please take a few moments to familiarize yourself of the following options to prepay your child’s meal account. Prepaid meal accounts help the serving lines go faster and give students more time to eat and relax. Prepayment also gives you the peace of mind of not having to worry about looking for lunch money every day and students no longer need to worry about carrying cash or fumbling with change. We have three options for prepayment: online, check, and cash.

Online Payment Options

Online prepayment is by far the most popular and efficient. Online payments are a simple, safe, and secure way to make payments to your child's account 24 hours a day at your convenience. The system allows you to prepay for meals online using a credit or debit card, check your child's account balance, see what your child is eating, and receive account balance alerts by email. If you choose to deposit money in your child's account, My School Bucks will charge $1.95 per transaction regardless of the dollar amount deposited. Click the Online Payment link above to start the registration process (You will need your child's school ID number or birth date).

Send Check or Cash

Payments may be made by check or cash directly at your child's school site or mailed to D.T.S.D. Food Service, P.O. Box 898, Hershey PA 17033.

Personal Check: To ensure proper credit, include your child's student I.D. number on your check and deposit slip. Money placed on student accounts will be available for breakfast, lunch, or a la carte spending. Parents who wish to designate how much money their child can spend for breakfast, lunch, or snacks should call the Food Services office at 531-2217. Food Services will issue a debit card to all Elementary students, sixth graders and ninth graders at the beginning of the school year. Addressing the concern of long lines to pay for meals, students must use their debit card when accessing their account. Food Services still accepts cash but strongly prefers the use of the debit card.

If you send a check with your child, please make it payable to D.T.S.D. Food Service, place it in a sealed envelope and write your child's complete name, student ID number, grade, and amount enclosed in the envelope. Checks are deposited into your child's account the same day it is received.

Cash: Although we accept cash, checks are more secure. Cash money should not be dropped off at the school office. If you must send cash with your child, please place it in a sealed envelope and write your child's complete name, student ID number, grade, and amount enclosed in the envelope. All cash money should be hand-delivered directly to a Food and Nutrition employee.

Managing Your Student's Account

Students may check their balance by asking a cashier for their available funds or use the services of My School Bucks. They will need to communicate with you, the parent, when it is time to add money to their account. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Gregory Hummel, Director of Food Services, at 531-2233 or Nicole Peters, Administrative Assistant in the Food Services Office at 531-2217

Prefer Paper?

While the DTSD Food Services Department strongly recommends depositing money in your child's account via My School Bucks, we will accept deposits by check if accompanied by the proper deposit slip.

Deposit slips are also available in the Cafeteria/Food Court and the Food Services Office.

Lost Debit Cards

If a debit card is lost, students must contact the Food Services Department immediately at which time the lost card will be deactivated. Five dollars will be charged for a replacement card.
