LOS AL NUTRITION NEWS!

LOS ALAMITOS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

FOOD SERVICES DEPARTMENT

Los Alamitos Unified School District Food Services Department participates in the National School Lunch Program at all 9 school sites and Child Development Centers.  We serve approximately 3,100 lunches per day. Our goal is to provide healthy foods and encourage children to make healthy choices every day. We strive to create a friendly, fun, safe and sanitary eating environment for our students.  The cafeteria serves as the first nutrition classroom.

We are a team of food and nutrition professionals dedicated to students' health, well-being, and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits and lifelong nutrition and fitness practices to provide our students with unlimited possibilities.

Meals, foods, and beverages sold or served at our schools meet state and federal nutrition standards based on the U.S.D.A. Dietary Guidelines. Students have access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods meeting the nutrition standards.

Notice: The California Revenue and Taxation Code (RTC) Section 19853(b) requires local educational agencies (LEA) that operate the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) to annually notify households about the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Information Act.
