Welcome to Food Services!

Welcome Students, Parents and Staff to the 2017-2018 School Year!


 Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.

The Food Service department is made up of a team of Food Service professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

New USDA GuidelinesMeals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines.


We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.



Many students across the Big Walnut School District eat breakfast and  lunch daily at school. Twenty-five food service employees serve up 1000 lunches daily around the district.


Meal Pricing & Financial Assistance

Elementary and Intermediate lunches are $2.50; Middle and High school lunches are $2.75. A reduced lunch, in all buildings, is $.40. All lunches include milk. Breakfast is offered in all of the buildings.  High School and Middle School breakfast is $2.00; Elementary and Intermediate breakfast is $1.25. A reduced breakfast is $.30 in all buildings.

Families who need financial assistance for meals should complete the Free and Reduced Price Meal Application. Please see the Free and Reduced Q & AFamilies may apply for assistance anytime during the school year.

 Secure Online Lunch Account Payment System

Big Walnut Local School District offers the convenience of internet funding of student meal accounts through PaySchools for meal purchases.
