North Andover Dept. of Nutrition Program Update

FREE MEALS through June 2022

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year.  We are very excited to see the students return to the cafeterias.

The USDA has approved free meals for ALL students through June 30, 2022. All students will receive their meals free of charge through June 2022.

Meal Applications

Meal applications only need to be completed should families wish to qualify for free or reduced priced transportation, community programs or athletics.  Meal applications can be completed at www.lunchapp.com. Families who have received notification of approval via our direct certification process do not need to fill out meal applications.

PIN Numbers

All students will need to input their 4 digit pin numbers with the kitchen cashier.  All families will receive an email this week listing your students 4 digit pin numbers.  Not to worry should your student not know their pin numbers we can easily look it up for them until they get to know it.

2nd Meals

Students are eligible to receive one free breakfast (where applicable) and one free lunch daily.  Students who'd like to purchase second meals must have funds available to them in their debit accounts.

Snack Program

All schools with the exception of ABECC will offer snacks for purchase during lunch.  SNACKS ARE NOT FREE for the 2021-2022 school year.  Students who wish to purchase snacks must have funds available in their debit accounts.  The daily snack at all elementary schools is $1.00.  Snacks at the secondary levels range from $0.50 to $2.00.  Point of sale, debit accounts can be created and/or replenished at www.sendmoneytoschool.com.

Dietary Accommodations

Students who require dietary accommodations must complete the dietary accommodation form.  Forms must be returned to your school nurse where she will then share with the kitchen the dietary accommodation needed.  As an example, we now offer a gluten free option daily at all schools.  A dietary accommodation form must be on file for us to provide the gluten free option.

Preordering Meals

All PreK, kindergarten and elementary students will continue to utilize our online ordering system, LINQ.  Please make every effort to preorder your students meals.  Families can start preordering meals for the month of September on August 27, 2022.  Preordering meals helps us with meal production and also reduces the wait time your student will have in their lunch line.  As a reminder, only parent LINQ accounts can order snacks.  If you rely on your student's teacher to place orders on your behalf, teacher accounts do not have the authority to order snacks for your student.  Families who have never created a LINQ account should log into onlineordering.linq.com.  Families who already have accounts and need to add students should log into portal.onlineordering.linq.com.  You will need your students ID number to complete the registration process.  Student ID's can be found in PowerSchool.  If you need assistance with your students ID# please contact either Mary Ann Cummings, [email protected] or Erika Murphy, [email protected].

Parent release notes for creating NEW accounts click here.

NAHS & NAMS students will not preorder meals this school year

Instead, they will chose the serving line they'd like lunch from when they arrive in the cafe.  Each serving line has signage as to what foods are available from each line.

Menus, ingredients and nutritional information are all available on our website.
