Director's Message:

Happy New Year! Our team is still focused on delicious food and an inviting service model.  We're committed to sourcing and serving fresh fruits and vegetables whenever possible, while insuring a low carbon footprint.  Cafeterias are continuing to be inspired with a modern farmhouse feel.   Our "Farm Fresh" makeover is nearly complete.  Your Student Nutrition Team is passionate and dedicated, so look for more great things to come....

This year we've partnered with several new organizations.  Daylight Foods is our new produce company.  Daylight is based out of Milpitas and we participate in their Daylight 150 program.  This program focuses on produce grown within a 150 mile radius of the Bay Area.  We've also partnered with California Farmers' Market Association (which operates the Morgan Hill Farmers Market) and Amor Organics (farmer food hub in Watsonville), to provide miniature farmers markets and fruit/vegetable tastings at our schools.  More to come......

Our 2018 CDE's Breakfast Grant spend is nearly complete, with several upgrades at every site.  Money awarded to our department was used to update aging equipment, re-imagining our cafeterias to align with our "Farm Fresh" model, increasing our digital marketing with fun LED Menu boards, newly installed TV's, and website/social media improvements.

Lot's of new offerings this year, including Baja Fish Tacos, Texas Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Fresh Baked Muffins, Zucchini Breakfast Breads, and Carnitas Tacos with Chipotle Slaw, just to name a few.  I'm also happy to offer 2 vegan offerings a week, with a goal of offering a vegan option 5 days a week.  Every Thursday is a Wild Mike's Deep Dish Pizza day.  Enjoy!


Student Nutrition Department

The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being, and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy eating habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.  All foods and beverages sold or served at our schools meet or exceed state and federal requirements, which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines.
