Media Release Free Reduced Meals

Welcome to the 2021 - 2022 school year!

We are happy to share that all students can receive free breakfast and lunch this year! No application is required! But we do request you complete the meal application to support district funding and to continue to receive other benefits for your family.

Students may receive 1 free breakfast and 1 free lunch daily.

We offer a variety of fresh seasonal fruits and veggies. We are grateful to offer students a variety of nutrients that can complement their entrees.

We do want to be sure to let you know that per federal guidelines, students must take a fruit or vegetable will all meals. Milk is optional.

Students are not required to participate in the free meal program, but if they do, their meal must include a fruit or veggie because those are the federal rules.

Breakfast will be offered 15 minutes before the start of school at all school sites.

We invite elementary students to come early, even if they do not have time to eat before school. Breakfast will be offered in a lunch bag, and can be saved for the am recess.

Amador Valley HS & Foothill HS will have brunch on Wednesdays & Thursdays.

All meals come with an entree, fruit, vegetable, and milk.

We have been working to offer our students the best options possible. We have been working to eliminate high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, and added food coloring from all of menus. We also have been working to add more plant-based and vegetarian options. It has been exciting to see our students trying new things, and we will continue these offerings in the 2021 - 2022 school year.

If students have a medically diagnosed disability related to food, we will accommodate with alternate meal options. To receive a meal accommodation please complete the form located on our website (scroll down for the form).

Garlex Pizza will be offered at all school this year.

All elementary schools will have 1 pizza day per week.

Middle Schools will have pizza on Wednesdays and Fridays.

High School will have pizza offered daily.

Village HS will have pizza on Fridays.
