Community Eligibility Provision
CEP is a new alternative to the traditional meal application process associated with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. CEP alleviates the burden on families by eliminating household applications, while helping schools reduce costs associated with collecting and processing those applications.
Beginning August 2017, all Union County Schools will participate in CEP. All students will be eligible to participate in breakfast and lunch at no cost, regardless of income status. The cost of student meals is covered by U.S. Department of Agriculture-Food and Nutrition Service. Each student is eligible to receive one breakfast and one lunch meal per day.
