Five Star Meals

Welcome to Food & Nutrition Services!

The 17/18 school year is here.  This year we have a new Meal Charging Policy.  See below for all the details:

Nutrition Services 2017/2018 Meal Charge Policy

Every student registered at a school in our district is automatically assigned a meal account.  Each meal account is tied to your students District ID Number.  We use Nutrikids, a point of sale program, to maintain our student’s meal accounts and to run our point of sale stations in each of our schools.  Your student’s account stays the same school year to school year.   We encourage parents to take advantage of our meal account system and to pre-pay money on your students account.

Crater High School Meal Charge Policy

Breakfast Meal Price                           $1.60                      Lunch Meal Price                 $2.60

Crater High School students may charge the cost of 8 lunch meals, -$20.80.  If your student is past -$20.80 we will send these meal charges to the Crater HS Bookkeeper to be charged to their student account with the school.  We will then adjust their lunch account balance to zero.   The meal charges added to their school account will still need to be paid and will stay on their account as a fine until it is paid.

Scenic Middle School Meal Charge Policy

Breakfast Meal Price                           $1.60                      Lunch Meal Price                 $2.40

Scenic Middle School students may charge the cost of 8 lunch meals, -$19.20.  If your student is past -$19.20 we will send these meal charges to the Scenic MS Bookkeeper to be charged to their student account with the school.  We will then adjust their lunch account balance to zero.   The meal charges added to their school account will still need to be paid and will stay on their account as a fine until it is paid.

Communicating Meal Account Balances

Auto Emails

Every Thursday we will send an email to guardians of students who are -$5.00 or more in debt.  (Email addresses are generated by what the school enters into their student database system.)

Letters

Every Wednesday we will mail letters home to those students who are -$12.00 or more in debt.

We will also mail a letter when a student’s balance has been transferred to their school account.

Phone Calls

The Nutrition Services office will make phone calls to student guardians when their negative meal account balance has been transferred to their school student account twice to discuss alternate meal payment options.

We strongly encourage parents to utilize our account system and pre-pay money into their students accounts.  Additionally, if there is a struggle to pay for school meals we strongly encourage you to consider applying for free/reduced priced meals.  Directions for applying are listed below under depositing money on your student’s account.

Elementary and Hanby Middle School
