Food & Nutrition services is excited to announce:  

 

  • We've hired a CHEF!

Chef Brenda Thompson-Wattles is a Registered Dietitian and Culinary Chef and will be working as an Area Manager in the Timberline Quadrant.  Brenda is a graduate of the University of Idaho and studied Culinary Arts at Le Cordon Blue College.  Food & Nutrition Services will be 'tapping into' Brenda's extensive background in their focus for quality improvement of recipes, menus and nutrition education. 

  • We are going 'GREEN'!

This year, students attending Adams, Collister, Highlands, Longfellow, Monroe, Mountain View, Pierce Park, Valley View and Taft elementary schools will see a big change during meal time. Styrofoam trays have been replace with a biodegradable, recyclable, and compostable tray. Transitions to less styrofoam and more biodegradable, recyclable, and compostable containers will be made at schools throughout the District all school year.
