What's New What's New?

This may not be news, but did you know:

The school meals at Boise School District include fruits and vegetables on a daily basis. We offer a variety of options in order to maximize student’s health and enjoyment. In addition to fruits and vegetables, we provide a variety of whole grains, proteins and dairy products in our menus. In this way, we are helping students to eat balanced, wholesome meals that allow them to ‘Savor the Flavor of Eating Right.’

Elementary Lunch
Some of the most flavorful and nutritious foods are fruits and vegetables. Enjoying a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables can provide our bodies with many different vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals that help fight diseases. Fruits and veggies taste great and can be fun to eat. Here are some tips for increasing fruits and veggies:
• Blend low-fat yogurt with fruit pieces and ice for a colorful smoothie
• Dip fresh veggies in fun dips like hummus, ranch or yogurt/herb dip
• Make frozen treats by putting chopped fresh fruits, like banana or watermelon in the freezer
• Grow your own fruits and veggies and eat them fresh from the garden
