School meals are carefully planned by our Food Services team under the guidance of a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist on staff. All meals meet state and federal requirements under the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, which is based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines.
Meals are planned using a Food Based Menu Planning system, which offers all five food groups at lunch and three food groups at breakfast. Meal plans are grade-level specific and include whole grains, lean meat, a variety of fruits and vegetables, and low-fat or non-fat milk.
Menus are also analyzed using a nutrient analysis software in order to meet the grade-level specific dietary specifications (calories, saturated fat, and sodium) set forth by the USDA. For more information about the school meal regulations, you can visit: https://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/nu/sn/ or click here to view the USDA meal pattern.
All meals are prepared and served by qualified child nutrition professionals.
We encourage you to review the daily menu offerings with your children to assist them in making choices at breakfast and lunch.
