School meals are carefully planned by our Food Services team under the guidance of a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist on staff. All meals meet state and federal requirements under the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, which is based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines.
Meals are planned using a Food Based Menu Planning system, which offers all five food groups at lunch and three food groups at breakfast. Meal plans are grade-level specific and include whole grains, lean meat, a variety of fruits and vegetables, and low-fat or non-fat milk.
Menus are also analyzed using a nutrient analysis software in order to meet the grade-level specific dietary specifications (calories, saturated fat, and sodium) set forth by the USDA.
All meals are prepared and served by qualified child nutrition professionals.
