Edmond Public Schools provides students with nutritious and great-tasting meals. We have a commitment to achieving high quality and excellence while meeting our students’ nutritional needs each and every school day.

Students are served meals based on USDA’s National School Lunch Program guidelines. This means that all meals served are analyzed to meet the dietary and nutritional guidelines established for each age/grade group.

Charge Policy

As stated in the Oklahoma State Department of Education Child Nutrition Manual, the school district "is not required to provide meals if payment is not made for the current day's meal or if funds in a student's account are not sufficient to cover the cost of the meal."  However, Edmond Public Schools, recognizing the link between nutrition and education, will extend the following charge policy as a courtesy to students and parents:

All Grade Levels: No "a la carte" items may be charged (i.e., resulting in a negative balance).  "Negative" charges may only be made for milk or meal purchases.  Students may not exceed a $15 charge limit.  Once the student can no longer accumulate negative charges, the student will be offered, as a courtesy, a complimentary meal of toast, fruit, and milk at breakfast or a sandwich, fruit, and milk at lunch.  All account balances will be carried over into the next school year.

If you feel that your family may qualify for Free or Reduced-Price Meals, please submit an application as soon as possible.  (See link at the top of this page.)  If you need assistance, please call the Child Nutrition Office at 405-340-2889.

Online Payments

Meal accounts may be registered online at www.mypaymentsplus.com.  With an online account, parents have the ability to make payments, monitor purchases and balances, and even set up automatic low-balance notifications and/or deposits to make sure funds are always available for their students.

Did You Know?

School Meals are nutritious.

  • Edmond schools have their menus analyzed for nutritional content in the USDA’s Administrative Review.
  • The 2001 School Nutrition Dietary Assessment-II found that school meals continue to meet or exceed virtually all of the recommended daily allowances (RDA) for key nutrients analyzed for school breakfast and lunches.

School Meals promote healthy eating habits.

  • School is one of the few places where you can find food in the correct portion sizes according to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
  • Students who eat school lunch consume 29% less calories from fat and twice as many servings of fruits and vegetables.
  • Milk continues to be the most reliable source of Calcium. Milk is available with all school meals.
  • Edmond schools serve the lower fat versions of milk, cheeses, gravies, meats, breads and other foods. According to the American Dietetic Association, all foods can fit into a healthy diet when eaten in moderation.
  • School meals also meet or exceed the USDA sodium and whole grain requirements.

School Meals play an integral part in a child’s education.

  • Students who eat breakfast have fewer absences, disciplinary problems, and trips to the school nurse. They have better overall academic performance! Skipping breakfast can leave your child tired and looking for less healthy foods later in the day.
  • Students who eat school meals are exposed to a wide variety of foods including as many as 30 different fruits and vegetables each month.

School Meals are safe.

  • Edmond school cafeteria managers are Certified Food Service Operators by the Oklahoma City County Health Department.
  • All Edmond school food service departments have implemented HACCP practices to ensure food safety.
