We are pleased to announce that online application processing for the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program for Free and Reduced-Priced Meals will now be accessible through HeartlandApps.com. Please read the Parent Letter attached below for further information. Printable versions of the application will also be available on the link at the bottom of this page and at the all school offices, the District Office and the main Nutrition Services Office any time throughout the year, or they can be mailed to you by a phone or email request to the Nutrition Services office at 624-1112 Ext. 1 or email@example.com. Completed applications may be dropped off at all locations as well or mailed to our department office address listed below. They will be processed in a timely manner (up to 10 days) but until an eligibility determination is made, and a letter is sent to the parent/guardians, the student is required to pay full price. Students who were on the program in this school district the prior school year are given a 30 school day grace period at the start of the new school year at their prior eligibility. If your child was on the program in another district, please contact our office for further instructions. Children participating in the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program will not be overtly identified by the use of any special means.
NOTE: Acceptance in this program no longer qualifies students for free or reduced bus passes. You must now complete a separate Transportation 'income' application. Please call the Transportation Department for further information - (916) 624-9106. Thank you!
