Start Your Day with a Good Breakfast
We understand that mornings can be a busy time for most families so the Child Nutrition Department has made it convenient and easy for students to start their day with a nutritious morning meal at an affordable price of $2.00 or no charge for students that qualify for free or reduced-price meals. Students are welcome to go into their school's cafeteria to purchase breakfast before the start of school each day. Also, the following school cafeterias are open during the morning recess times for students to purchase a second chance breakfast meal- Birney Elementary School, Jefferson Elementary School, Lincoln Elementary School, Madison Elementary School, Washington Elementary School, Adams Middle School, Parras Middle School and Redondo Union High School. Each breakfast meal consist of a whole-grain entree item, fresh fruit, juice and milk. Eating a nutritious breakfast has many benefits including improving a student’s concentration, test scores and overall academic performance, and many more which are discussed in the section below. Please visit the 'Menus' page of the website for the monthly breakfast and lunch menus.
